We support a growing membership of industry, academia, and public sector organisations — all embarking on their journeys towards net zero.
Core Membership Benefits
If your organisation would like to start its own net zero journey; learn from other businesses doing the same; and help Wales achieve its 2050 net zero targets — then you’re in the right place.
A private, member-only catalogue showcasing our members’ professional services/equipment and contact details. The directory helps to drive member-to-member trade and collaboration, while aiding professional pan-Wales collaboration.
A mix of in-person and virtual workshops, offered regularly and tailored to our members’ needs. While providing a space to learn, ask questions and share knowledge, these events empower our members to build lasting professional connections. Watch this space for more information on our member events.
A space to collaborate with other members to identify inter-company links, shape policies, share best practice, underwrite NZIW plans, and contribute to the collective effort towards a low carbon future in Wales.
Including everything from a bank of useful learning resources to a downloadable toolkit of graphics — for members to show off their net zero commitment on email footers, websites, and social media channels.
Members can expand their reach and support Wales on its wider net zero journey by telling their organisation’s story through NZIW media coverage, LinkedIn shoutouts and website case studies. We even offer our members a free NZIW communications toolkit to help them get involved.
Our CEO, Ben Burggraaf, is available to speak at company events/meetings (subject to his availability) — with the aim of inspiring our members’ employees and stakeholders; encouraging them to align with your net zero objectives; and helping you to foster a culture of sustainability.
Each quarter you will receive an e-newsletter featuring a round-up of NZIW news; Government support and investment opportunities; newly published resources and publications, and relevant national, regional and local events and networking opportunities.
Our members receive guidance and support in transitioning to deliver net zero, with the sharing of clear pathways to effectively reduce their industrial carbon emissions. Net Zero Industry Wales is committed to supporting members at every stage of their sustainability journey too — so, whether you are just beginning or well along the road to net zero, NZIW will provide you with the necessary guidance to accelerate your progress. Starting in February 2024, our members will be able to access monthly surgery sessions. Taking place every second Friday morning of the month, members will be able to book a 30 min slot to discuss where they are on their journey and explore how NZIW can support and empower you to build greener futures. More info on this coming soon!
Access to professional bid writing services: We help our members to secure grant funding for low carbon projects through the upfront funding of experienced bid writing support. We have selected a group of experienced bid writers to provide support and expertise — helping you develop compelling proposals and unlock investment opportunities. NZIW will upfront fund the costs to support the bid writing of credible projects that aim to seek grant funding support, following an initial project screening stage. This is worth up to £10,000 (ex VAT) per project and the value needs to be repaid by the member if the bid is successful. This service is subject to availability of sufficient funds.
Collaborative delivery vehicle (public & private sector): Our developing multi-level stakeholder partnerships with Natural Resources Wales, Local Planning Authorities, and other regulatory bodies, will de-risk and accelerate the delivery of your Net Zero projects – and deliver them in a way which aligns with the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act (2015). Using a bespoke Memorandum of Understanding for your project (to be agreed between all parties), as an independent, trusted party, we will support the consenting process of your project.
The scale of this can be determined by the member and depends on the project scope (agreed upfront). The costs of the services will be recharged to the members at cost, plus a potential overhead charge to fund the project initiation and overall programme coordination (overhead charge to be confirmed).
